RAY WILSON GETS $1MIL - WOOLOOWIN GETS "SHAFTED" Brisbane Wooloowin Residents make it clear BrisConnections are not welcome in their quiet, leafy suburb. Uncertain of the exact geology underground, and despite pre-tender reports warning unknown geology could have an impact on time and cost, BrisConnections chose a fixed time, fixed cost contract anyway leaving themselves no wiggle room within the original tender bid. This risk taking behaviour has come home to roost as they try to sneak a 42m deep shaft, 6m high shed with 70+ trucks 6 days a week into residential Wooloowin in an obviously corrupt, rushed mitigation strategy upon declaring the geology not to their liking. Let's hope the State Government have the mettle to keep the BrisConnections operations restricted to the original designated work areas. It's the honest thing to do.

PARK WHERE YOU WANT BRISCONNECTIONS - THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED ... "We have designated parking areas", "We are providing staff car parks", "No there won't be overflow into residential areas" - all phrases sold with passion at BrisConnections' Airport Link Community Consultation sessions in 2008. Peter Beattie has a phrase to describe it - "B*%% S#*!". Look at all these vehicles parked in a normally empty residential street. Some of them are even Airport Link badged just so they can't weazel and blame the cars on a grandma's cake baking convention ... Now BrisConnections is selling the Wooloowin Worksite. "It'll all be fine. We're putting in noise mitigation strategies". NO IT WON'T BE FINE. BRISCONNECTIONS - THEY JUST CAN'T BE TRUSTED
