Background
"At every significant juncture City North Infrastructure have actively prevented Community access to information relevant to the Wooloowin Shaft decision. Information which should have acted as cross check and validation for claims made by City North Infrastructure, the producer of the Wooloowin Worksite Modification Request for Project Change. This makes an absolute mockery of Premier Anna Bligh's statement - At the heart of The Right to Information report is the belief that governments should readily make information available to the community."
Wooloowin Resident
Colin Jensen, the Coordinator-General who made the ruling in favour of the Wooloowin Shaft, owns 2 of the 6 shares in CNI - or at least did on 25 August 2009.
Colin Jensen is also the Director General of the Department of Infrastructure and Planning whose position has been allocated these 2 shares.
Accountability
City North Infrastructure (CNI), a private, fully State Government owned and directed company set up specifically for the Airport Link project has been imputed State Government powers whilst abgrogating State Government transparency in terms of Right To Information (RTI).David Lynch, the CEO of CNI, has been asked a number of questions by the Community in relation to the Wooloowin Shaft issue. Most of the questions to David Lynch have not been answered at all. The remainder have received inadequate response.
The questions covered here are separate to the Borehole Log APL06 issue with David Lynch.
If CNI were subject to RTI, or are ruled to be subject to RTI, the information could be obtained. But this is not the case ... yet. CNI are currently under "external review" by the Office of the Information Commissioner.
